Join “Racing with Passion”to Help Others
“Racing with Passion” donates a portion of the proceeds from each race to ”One Hour for Life” which provides basic emergency, medical, and nutritional education to those without access to formal facilities.
Imagine being in a rural village 30 miles from any major city. A crowd of villagers is gathered on a dusty road. A young girl was hit by a speeding van. She is not breathing. Locals are screaming, ailing, and crowding around the mother as she coddles her dying daughter. Nobody knows how to respond to the situation. Precious time is lost. Finally, a foreigner arrives, begins CPR, and resuscitates the girl. He/she flags down a truck and the injured girl is transported to a hospital. The incident lasts approximately two hours. Sadly, the girl dies from her injuries.

Here is a picture from the rural village of Turmi, Ethiopia. We will most likely go back there to set up one of our first programs.
Rapid action by trained locals may have saved this girl. It is not always possible to prevent disease and injury. However, it is possible to be prepared for when they occur.

“One Hour for Life’s” Vision
A world where emergency first response, preventative medicine, and healthy lifestyles are common knowledge.

“One Hour for Life’s” Mission
- To provide education in emergency response, medical intervention, and nutrition to those without access to formal facilities.
- We offer customized, culturally aware educational programs to fit local socioeconomic needs. We provide training, resources, education and continuing support for leaders and teachers in developing communities.
- Fundamental emergency and preventative therapy protocols are emphasized. These include “The Golden Hour” Rule, basic CPR, Body Substance Isolation (BSI), balanced diet, malnutrition warning signs, and active lifestyles.

SPRING 2013
Our first program is set for Spring of 2013. We will bring emergency and preventative therapy professionals, and all required materials to rural Ethiopia for educational courses. In addition, we will work with local representatives to teach the material to students.
